And I just finished my first bottle of water.

(Well, I had a half-bottle this morning, so that's 1.5 for today).

No more water for me. Right now, I need something much stronger.

I'm probably gonna feel that way later today or tomorrow. The only other drink I'm drinking for now is fruit punch and maybe cranberry grape juice.

Wow, I just had some Great Value broccoli, the kind that steams in the bag in the microwave.  I put some margarine and garlic powder on it, it was awesome!  I enjoyed that broccoli as much as I would a QPC from McD's!  LOL!!!

And MM04, I'm happy to report victory over sin and shame, I did not have that mountain dew, lol!

I did go on a little snacking craze at the end of the day, though :(

Snack all you want... as long as you didn't go over your *ahem* calorie limit!!!  ;)  You DO have one, don't you?  ;D Yes, of course you do, it's in your plan...  ;D 8)

And I had some broccoli today as well. I had forgotten how much I really do like broccoli. I mean I REALLY like broccoli.  :-\

I've slacked a little with my workout. I need a Dr. Ian Smith in my face yelling at me or something... or maybe Jillian from Biggest Loser.

So I just wanted to report back on my week (last week) and weekend.

Last week, I think I did fairly well. I think I did my workout according to plan every day, I drank a lot of water last week, but I can't seem to get the victory over these darn vegetables. LOL!!!

HOWEVER, yesterday I went to the supermarket and bought some fresh broccoli, fresh cabbage, peas, collard greens and sweet potatoes. I meant to buy a bag of salad, but I forgot.

My goal for this week is to achieve the goal I failed to meet the last two weeks LOL! Seriously, with vegetables in the cabinets and fridge, I have no excuse not to eat them.  I also bought the Crystal Light stuff to put in my water, and that. stuff. is. sooooooo. good!!!!! Whew!!!

As for my workout, I need to make sure I'm doing everything right. I'm not sure I'm doing my crunches properly. And I may have to give up push-ups for a while until Arthur Itis goes back home.

All in all, I'll give myself a 7 for last week.

Try the Great Value brand drink mix, too.  It's BOMB.  No calorie.  OMG, I swear one of the "red" flavors tastes just like "red" kool-aid, lol.  I LOVE the grape, too.

I'll definitely try the Great Value brand, Ness... but not no red Kool-Aid flavor... LOL. I hate kool-aid, and the red one is my LEAST FAVORITE of all!  :-\ :D :D :D

On another note...

Just start shouting!!!!

Okay, so y'all probably don't know that song. It was at the end of Ricky Dillard's last CD (7th Episode, Live in Toronto).

My Tip O' the Day is "just start shouting!"

So tonight, in between sets of lunges, I was all hunched over trying to catch my breath when a good song came on my playlist, "Watch Me Praise Him" by Deitrick Haddon and the Voices of Unity. I started doing a little two-step just to shake my legs out a bit before they gave out on me completely (lol), and the next thing I know, I was dancing all over the place! I danced hard, too... went from stretching, to giving God GREAT praise (and energetic praise, too! LOL)!!! Right after that, Youthful Praise's "Jesus Reigns" came on, and I kept right on dancing!

It wasn't until I collapsed on the couch that I realized I had danced for 10 minutes straight, which was quite a nice little aerobic workout.  So, if you don't have the equipment to work out or don't feel like it on a certain day, just start shouting;)

That's a good idea, Ness. I think I'm gonna try that myself.

Hosanna (Kirk) is another good one. And JPK's "Wait on Him" (thanks MM04).

Moving to good gospel music is a GREAT workout. I normally do praise breaks. Clark Sisters' Hallelujah, Hezekiah's Praise Break, and a Lemmie Battles one.
I like William Murphy's All Day too. I do more arm/leg exercises with this song.

My godsons and I also love dancing to Bishop Noel Jones & The City of Refuge Sanctuary Choir's "Alright (Hey, Hey, Hey)."  It's their reggae tune. It's a great cool-down song because it has a medium tempo calypso beat, but if you go through the whole song with a little two-step or double-step, you'll burn a few calories for sure (and have plenty of fun)... AND add a side of encouraging yourself by singing a line or two of "Hey Hey Hey, He'll make it alright."

NO EXCUSES!!!!!!!
That's my word for this week.

I'm finding that as I get further into my transformation, it's so easy to find a reason NOT TO work out, not to drink my water, not to eat my stupid vegetables, and not to set aside that hour of Jesus and Me time... it's just so easy to NOT do what I've promised myself I would do. But this week, I'm declaring: NO EXCUSES!

I've also realized that it's so easy to find the time to do things for other people, but when it comes to doing something for me, one of my favorite excuses is that I don't have time.

Anyway, my report for last week: I did pretty well. I guess I'd give myself a B-.  I'm doing great with the water (averaging about 2-3 bottles a day, at least one WITHOUT Crystal Light... lol). I skipped a couple of days on my workout, but I made up for it yesterday. I had the best workout yesterday!!!!

Gotta find a way to work those stupid vegetables in...  ::)

PLAN for Success!!!

I learned a lesson yesterday. Truth is, I already knew it... just like you probably already know it. But sometimes, you need to be reminded... or nudged.

You all know I went to Alabama yesterday for the homegoing service. This morning, my accountability partner checked in to see how I did, and specifically asked about vegetables and water.  Grrrr!!! I hate the honor system!!!  >:( :-\ :-[ :D :D I had to report that I hadn't eaten any vegetables all day yesterday, nor had I drunk any water. I began to explain why (was on the road, so got breakfast at BK's drive thru; ate lunch at the repast - they served ham and chicken, which I don't eat, string beans, which I don't eat, and rice. So I had rice). Went home, and got on the road two hours later. I stopped at Krystals on the road for dinner). And she said, "you have to plan better."

Good point.

I mean, it's hard to "plan" to bring vegetables with you  ::) but since we're accepting NO EXCUSES!!!! then we just have to find a way. I could've bought carrot sticks or celery sticks or grapes (which is no veggie, but it's better than nothing from that food group at all), and a few bottles of water. Shucks, for that matter, I could've used a little willpower and ordered a salad from McDs or Taco Bell instead of the #1 from Krystals. LOL  :D

So, the lesson is: we have to PLAN to succeed.  Success doesn't just happen, especially not when it comes to efforts to live healthier. We have to plan for it. Plan to exercise, plan to budget and stick to it, plan to balance your checkbook, plan for that road trip. I remember hearing a saying years ago: if you fail to plan, plan to fail.

'nuff said.
