I lost 6 lbs. :-\

Not much, but it's something. Trying to lose at least 10 before our 5th Sunday fellowship in November.

Ok, I'm on a quasi-hiatus for this week, but I HAD TO log-in to respond to this. I just wanted to let you know that this is significant! Congratulations, sis. You should be so proud of yourself!!! That's awesome!

What an awesome thread! This is my first time clicking on this thread. I assumed it was about helping fat people slim down so i never bothered.

OK my spiritual goals are these:

1) Read at least two chapters of the Bible everyday.

2) Pray formally at least twice a day.

That is it for now. I will see how this week goes and report back later.
The car, job, house wife/husband are not the reward, God is.

I like watching The Biggest Loser, but I hate the message it sends.

6 lbs is good.  Slow, sustained weight loss is healthy.  Trying to lose 4 more pounds from now till the end of November is a healthy and attainable goal.

You're doing well!

Thanks Incog. I will do that. Thanks for the advice. So 10lbs in a month is not a good goal? I have no expertise in this, just curious.

I think that's a VERY ambitious goal.  I'd shoot for no more than 8 lbs in a month, which is roughly 2 lbs a week.

LOL! We were talkin about Colon Cleanses and Body wraps... I think he's gunna do well.. he seems SERIOUS! LOL! more so than me. lol

We are both trying to drop 30. You wanna join in?

Goodness. Push ups. LOL. Intense.

I so wanna try a colon cleanse, but it scares me. I was told to get one, because it's healthy. IDK though. What is a body wrap?

30 lbs is nice and sure I'll join in.

Yeah, if it werent for that excercise ball i would not be able to push nothin up! LOL! I'm doing hip hop abs every day this week and hiting the gym next week. AND the suana!

I'm scared too of those cleanses... a body wrap is when you get wrapped up in plastic i think, but they spray you with something to extract dead weight/water you sit in the suana with it for 20 minutes.. befitandslim.com. my mom got one on Saturday.. she's already thin, but she wanted to tone her tum. you can loose 2 - 20 inches from your body. I wanna try it! if anything, it comes with a massage... never had one of those. lol

K... I'll let William know you're on board... YAY TEAM 30!!!!!!! LOL!

Ok so how are the saints doing???

I brought this up for two reasons. The first is that I really just wanted to check on everyone, and report my own progress (or lack thereof). I'm finding that when we get quiet about our transformation, we're either slipping or about to slip. So let's keep encouraging one another, checking on one another, and being accountable.

I have definitely backslidden, but after my experience today, I'm getting back in the saddle immediately.

That brings me to the second reason I brought this thread back up. I have a story to tell about a life-changing experience I had today, which pretty much FORCES me to get back on the saddle. It's not a really dramatic story, but I'm pretty upset about it and I want to share it in case it motivates someone. But, I'm not comfortable enough to share it openly yet... lol... so I'm going to e-mail it to those of you whose e-mail addresses I have (Nessa and MM04). If anyone else would like to read my brief story, PM me your e-mail address and I'll forward it to you.

Guess what?!

It took me a while to start this... but I started exercising, and drinking water (been doing that though). And I've been EATING! Haven't had ice cream in a while! BUT my mom bought some Breyers Oreo Cookies and Creme ice cream! Lawwdd... yeah, I ate most of it. But hey, I haven't had it in months!  :-\

Umm... yeah, thats about it!

For now.....  ;)

I never did read this story.  I'll have to go find it.  I saw it on my phone, but was in the middle of something, then I forgot about it.

You didn't say you wanted to read it... lol.

I'll forward it now ("now" meaning if I don't forget between the time I hit "post" and the time I make it to Yahoo! Mail).  ;D

Well, I just want to report that I'm doing a lot better.  I can't remember the last time I *didn't* drink water. I'm drinking it every day, on average about 3 bottles a day. Really the only beverages I consume are coffee and water.

I've also started eating vegetables at least one serving per day. I know that's not nearly enough (USDA recommends 3-5 servings a day), but it's a lot better than the 1 per month I've been eating for years... lol.

I still look for opportunities to exercise (like parking further from the door, taking the stairs instead of the escalator/elevator). And I'm resuming my workout today.

I fell off the saddle, but I'm back.  :)
