Thanks all :D Oh yeah, I also did the Atlanta Peachtree Road Race 10K on July 4th.  I finished at 1:27:41.  Not too bad for my first time. I can't wait to do it again next year!

Congrats to Val and T-Block!

This week I started with the most intense workout routine I've ever done.  It's a workout that MMA Legend Randy Couture developed and it's AMAZING.

1. Bent rows x8 (Back)Upright rows x8 (Traps and Shoulders)
2. Military press x8 (Shoulders)
3. Good morning x8 (Lower back and hamstrings)
4. Lunges x8 (each leg) (quads,hams,glutes)
5. Squat push press x8 (mostly shoulders but also quads, hams, glutes,)
6. Deadlift x8 (Lower back, hams, glutes (traps when weight is heavier)

Here's the thing though...You do all those exercises back to back without putting the Barbell down.

Then you rest for only 60 seconds...and do it all again...for SIX SETS.

I went into the gym thinking I was strong and left humbled.   :D

You can't use a lot of weight or else:

A) You won't be able to do the upright rows because that isn't an excercise you can go heavy on.

or

B) You'll be so gassed after the first set you won't be able to finish.

I think I tried to go too heavy.  Today I'll put 15lbs on each side of the barbell.  That 30lbs, plus the 45lb barbell, will bring me up to a meager 75lbs.  I think I'll have to go that light to finish the workout though.

It's a great workout for fat loss because it's actually more cardio and muscle endurance than anything.  It will also build good overall strength because it works your upper back, lower back, traps, hamstrings, quads, glutes, shoulders, and triceps.

I HIGHLY recommend this workout.

Tried this again last night with only 30lbs on the 45lb bar and still couldn't finish the second set.

It isn't that the weight is too heavy, it's that it's really a cardio workout.  I was so winded I couldn't go on!

This will be my workout for a while.  It's really amazing.

A little encouragement for the day...

And the key here is (1) making a decision, and (2) exercising will power. Although this story is about weight loss, the principles apply to any area of your total health transformation. :)

Well, I'm slowly but surely reaching my goal. I've gained MORE weight.  ;D

I kinda fell off the 3 meals a day thing. My accountability partner ain't doing her job (LOL) and it hasn't even crossed my mind.

Water is no biggie.

Veggies, well..... one day last week, I was starving for some vegetables. I ate 2 bowls of salad. Then my mom made broccoli to go with dinner. I didn't even eat what was cooked, I just ate the broccoli.  :-\ #weird

I'm going to use a new motivational tool.

I'll take a pic of myself (shirtless) every monday.  I'll save and date them all in a document (Probably PowerPoint) to observe my progress.

I thought about doing something like that as well.
