Water has no taste. My mom says that even as a baby, she had to put maple syrup or honey in my water to get me to drink it.

Also, bear in mind that I don't drink a lot anyway. I don't drink with/after each meal, and I rarely, if ever, get thirsty. Before becoming health conscious, on average, I would drink one cup of coffee a day, and I may drink about 8 oz of sweet tea, or maybe nothing else after that morning coffee.

So it's not just the fact that I don't like water, it's also that I'm forcing myself to drink when I'm not even thirsty.

Luckily for me I LOVE water. However, this first Sunday my mom made her famous sweet tea, and it was PAINFUL not getting a glass or 4. And I hate giving up my Hawaiian Punch and lemonade, but I'ma stick wit it.


Dang....that's all you could do, 4 years? Where's your will power?

I went 4 years without a soda. Went to a cookout, had a NuGrape and got all off track. I'm still mad at myself!!

Determined to eat right from now on. 

Whole foods.  Chicken, Steak, Turkey, Fruits, Vegetables, Nuts.  Also, Protein shakes, Water, and Creatine.

I'm going the straight and narrow yall.  Pray my strengf.  Pray my strengf.

I've got to join you in that, bro.  My church is doing the Daniel "diet". (I can't call it a fast.  lol), And, changing my diet in that fashion made me realize how much bad stuff I not only allow into my body but actually crave.  Making changes for good.

To be honest, I lost all motivation to lose the 10 lbs I wanted to lose, and to watch my diet. I tried on some clothes yesterday and looked stunning in them. LOL! :D :D :D

Okay seriously, I am still serious about exercising and eating right (because I believe that's key to clearing my skin, and because I believe it's my responsibility as a woman of God to take care of the my temple)... Some friends at work are doing a Biggest Loser competition and I'm in on it. I don't expect to win because my goal is to tone, not to lose that much. But I'm looking forward to all the exercising we have planned. We're doing a "Race to the Top" Challenge today at 11:30 (taking the stairs from the lobby to the 21st floor), but I told them I'll do the "Crawl to the Middle" challenge and go from Lobby to 10. :D

Me too. I've been in the gym like crazy and eating good for the most part, and I'm still not losing much weight. I guess I need to cut out more sugar. :-\

Try switching from sugar to splenda...

Thanks I'll try that. Do you know if it leaves an aftertaste like other sugar substitutes.

And I lost a few more pounds. I dont know what took so long for the weight loss to kick back in. :-\

Splenda takes some getting used to. To me, its the sweetener that comes closest to sugar, but it still takes some getting used to. And it's expensive. I'm trying to get into it myself. Trying to reduce my sugar and salt as well.

my wife and I started Dave Ramsey's total money make over....

The biggest area is actually our grocery shopping. For the first time Ever my wife is trying the envelop system for grocery shopping

(i'm using it for car maintenance and home repairs)

The funny thing is we are both expecting to start losing weight! cause we won't be buying so much food!
