Water rocks!  It's so refreshing.  It doesn't give you a quick sugar rush, from which you quickly crash.  It does so many things to be such a simple drink.

I hate drinking water but I force myself to do it.

Increase your calorie intake. 3500 calories = 1 pound.

Won't work. If your metabolism is high and your genes are working "against" you, there isn't much you can do to gain and sustain weight unless you want to bulk up a little. I literally tried every tip and trick known to man and didn't gain a pound until I turned xx. The few times I did gain weight, I lost it pretty much while I slept. Britt is very unlikely to gain non-muscle weight until she gets older or has children.

I'm writing up my exercise plan that I'm going to start tomorrow and I just want to know, should the cool down be as long as the warm up?  Should/Can the cool down be the same as the warm up?  (i.e:  Warm up with a jog, cool down with a jog vs warm up with a jog, cool down with a walk.)

Here's a good, easy-to-understand article on cooling down. http://exercise.about.com/od/exerciseforbeginners/a/anatomyworkout_5.htm

I typically cool down by walking or doing those leg-up things I do (don't know the name of them - it's when you get up on your tippy toes, hold it and come back down, repeat a zillion times until your calves are burning). I only cool down for about 5 minutes. Then I stretch for about 5 or less. I heard the guy on Biggest Loser say once that for cool-down, you can continue doing whatever your workout was, just at a slower pace. The key is not to stop abruptly. I remember reading about a guy having a heart attack like that.

1. Today is my 2 year "no soda" anniversary!

2. Today marks the 8th day in a row that I have been drinking nothing but water!

Praise Jesus!

I can't remember the last time I had a soda.  I now love water so much, I don't even think about soda.  I still have the occasional iced tea, but that's about it.

Same here, much to my surprise. I've always hated water, so it's a pretty big deal for me to not only drink it, but actually like it.

As for soda, I had a Dr. Pepper a couple of weeks ago. I've never been a soda person, though. I may have soda 3 or 4 times a year, only when I get a craving. I do love sweet tea, but these days I almost always choose water over tea.

When all you want to do is gain weight

It's interesting seeing people say they've tried drinking supplements and still couldn't gain weight.  Some of those weight-gaining shakes contain over 1,000 calories.  A person's metabolism must be crazy to go through a few of those shakes a day and still not gain weight.

Very interesting indeed.
