The perception seems to be that you can have a secular job as long as it isn't playing/singing secular music. 

Is there a scriptural base for this?

I'm a Word guy.  If you show me in the Word where it speaks against secular music, I'll receive it.

Else I'll just consider it religious fluff.

I wouldn't call him looney, definitely needs to spellcheck and proofread his stuff before putting it out there, but he has a passionate stance on the issue and presented it in a creative way.  I definitely agree with some of what he had to say.
