Yes. Start with the fact that I can't swim. Then I'm at my roommate's girlfriend's pool party. Didn't realize the pool went from 4' to 9' at a ledge, as opposed to a gradual ramp. Wading dead center in the pool, and took that step. SOMEHOW I made it to the edge. Second time that day that I could have died. The first was when I first got to the party and started to go through the wrong gate. Somebody behind me slammed the gate shut just as the two German Sheperds on the other side of it lunged at the opening.
Which brings me to the question.....
Have you ever been bitten by someone else's dog?
Wow. I'm so glad you made it alive.
When I was about 3 years old, a boy named Peter in my daycare class nearly drowned. For some reason, I remember that moment, his name, and the pool, but nothing else. I don't remember what he looked like at all... I don't even remember being 3. I just remember him almost drowning and that I cried a lot.
Yes, I was attacked by my grandmother's Akita/Huskie. I'll never forget that. I had on a brand new turquoise (fave color back then) 2-piece knit skirt outfit. I felt so grown up in that outfit and had begged my mom to let me wear it that day (I had just worn it to church that Sunday). I was about 10, maybe 9 years old. Somehow, that stupid dog got off the chain and just came charging after me. He ripped my outfit right off of me and tore my skin, and bit me on the shoulder/back area.
There's more to that story, but I gotta get up outta this office.
