Oh you beat me to it! I was gonna say listen to Hezekiah walker's version for a fuller sound and then top it off with Thadeus's interpretation.Dude is just nuts! ;D  Of course you cant do that many runs and fills in certain settings but there's no harm in trying... :)

Getting the Foundation is more than half the battle in my opinion.

What I would do, is I listen to the words, and pray and meditate on those words, before you even pick up the bass.  Then listen to the song, humming the line as unto the Lord, improvising with my voice as unto the Lord. Then, I would pick up my bass, and let it flow to my fingers.  Moving Forward is one of those songs, that most believers could identify with at some point in their life. Feel the emotions of the song, sing the words unto God.  Let the emotions it evokes, propel you to creatively make a joyful noise unto God.

Trust me it works.

when i was listening to the song it was pretty plain (rightly so for recording purposes) but in a live setting i wanted to fill it up a lil bit

can ya'll break down some of the movements that thad is doing (the tasteful ones)

I also hve been working on this song, have the foundation down pretty good, but need some improv ideas, wanting too sound more smooth than flashy or busy...
