I saw that lottery picture on FB and said the same thing... but the guy who posted it couldn't admit he was wrong so he just said "well the point is that there's more money in America than there's people, so there's obviously enough to go around."

OMGness people. I'm not even good in math and even I can tell that something is wrong with the thought that $640 million divided among 300 MILLION people could not possibly give each person 2 million dollars. :D  You know how it works. To get the answer for division, you multiply backwards.

2,000,000 x 300,000,000 = 600,000,000,000,000 (or six hundred trillion dollars, I think). So it would take 600 trillion dollars to give 300 million people 2.13 million dollars apiece.

On the other hand, $640,000,000 divided by 300,000,000 people will give each person $2.13 (that's two dollars and thirteen cents).

300 million x 2.13 = $613 million (or something like that).
