Just wondering if most folk have attended predominantly Black churches their whole lives, or if they have visited or belonged to other churches.
Me, I went to a few Korean churches until college, backslid and renewed my faith at a Black church in my 20s. Continued going to Black churches until I got married, and went to a mostly White church. This year, I returned to a Black church to be a part of their music ministry.
How about you?

I've been a member of predominantly black churches, but visited, white, african(different kind of black), hispanic, tongan/samoan and native american churches. All of those cultures are represented pretty well in my church, but still the majority, by a small margin is black.

I've only been a member of Black churches, but I've visited a few white churches and a few multi-cultural churches.
I like the multi-cultural fellowship, but I prefer the overall Black worship experience (in general). Not that you asked, but I would love to be a part of a multi-cultural church that offered that Black worship experience.

I think that would be great. Second Baptist in Boulder, Colorado is sorta like that.

Cosign, I have only been a "member" of 3 churches in my whole life and they were all black. My current church has a few Caucasian members, and a new caucasin family has been visiting for the past few sunday's. But I like Rue have visited white and multi-cultural. I like the multi-cultural fellowship, but prefer the overall black worship experience.

Born and breaded in the black church. I use to attend a couple of white churches when I was younger but overall I have been born and breaded in mostly black church. I am open to different worship experiences and diffrent ways of viewing church. I like the black experience because it is tied so much in overcoming life issues (back to the slavery days) also because it has been an important tool historically to help us overcome the oppression that many went through.

Predominately black churches all my life. Even when I was stationed overseas, I attended and directed for the Gospel service.

The church I go to now is mostly black, but its still very diverse. There are people from The West indies, Africa, India, Hispanic people, white people, etc.. The church I was raised in was 99% black, but they acted white for the most part

I've only been to black churches. I visited a few white ones and loved the way they stuck to time.

Anyway, I've belonged to the same predominantly black church all my life. Our current pastor (been here 4 years) wants a multi-cultural congregation and I share that vision. We have about 6 white members (many white visitors) and one Korean (my sister-in-law!), but I'd like to see more diversity. There is a church here in Rockford, IL (called Rock Church), which is multicultural and those folks know how to praise & have church! We've fellowshipped a few times and look forward to future gatherings with them.
