the very idea of ANYTHING being secular or christian is mind-blowing...it's all in how the medium is used, there is nothing that is inherently secular or christian...

A great example of this is the triquetra...not to mention that the concept of the Trinity is not accepted in all of Christiandom, but that's a whole 'nother kettle of fish...

Wink.

Oddly enough, keyboards are one of the few instruments not mentioned in the Bible that have been widely used in churches for the past hundreds of years.
Guitars and basses (stringed instruments) and drums (percussion and cymbals) ARE mentioned, yet those are the 2 that have experienced the most resistance in being used in the church.
I guess the keyboard, being a stringed instrument that's played percussively, could be included, but several Scriptures refer directly to the playing of stringed instruments and percussion/cymbals.

Ain't the church crazy?  Grin
We are probrably the least paid musicians. Take the guitar away and people will notice. We are like the stunt men in the action movies. We take the beating and everyone else gets the credit for the great show. Now I will take my hat off to the organists.Lot of work.No transposing. They have to know every chord on the board. And also the accustic pianoist.

That list so funny it has to be true.
I volunteer to play at church, 10 months later, they ask me to leave because they said " I was committed enough". Though I did what they asked, it wasn't enough.
