Depends on what you call "metal".
I listen to a lot of what my kids listen to...Disciple, Red, The Almost, Chevelle, Demon Hunter, P.O.D., Pillar and Thousand Foot Krutch.
My oldest girl takes it up a notch with August Burns Red, Texas in July, Underoath, Project 86, Inhale Exhale and other screamo-style bands.
So, I guess the answer is 'yes'.  Smiley

I do like Project 86, but I haven't heard any of the newer stuff.

I have some Pillar and Thousand Foot Krutch floating around somewhere, but I really have to be in the mood for any of that stuff.

Not really metal at all, but the Day of Fire stuff was good. Jonah 33 also good (well, their 1st one).

Brings up another question.  At what point does rock qualify to be properly called "metal"?

I'm not sure, but it probably has something to do with the amount of distortion on the guitars and whether or not the drummer twirls his sticks...  Grin

For a lot of people who don't listen to rock at all, any distortion on the guitar is enough to qualify as metal (or "hard rock" at least).

My exposure to metal is pretty limited at best.  There have been a few songs that I've liked, but it was never something that I really got into.  And we're just talking about "regular" metal here; no Death Metal (the term "Christian Death Metal" almost seems contradictory), Speed Metal, Metal Core, Thrash Metal, and the like thereof for me.
