Can I ask why your ministry decided against getting a regular A100/B3/C3?

get a real hammond organ. the digital ones are not as good. You still haven't given us your budget or a reason why you should not get a real one

well we didnt decide against we just didnt want somethin to exspensive. you kno what i mean . we will greatly take anything because i really love the b3 the feel and everything. i also heard that when they break ther hard to repair is this true? we just didnt want to get one and breaks or something. our first plan is to get the the motif and what ever is left we will spend on organ i would say at the moment our price range is around $5000

search on ebay, there is a seller in Colorado that almost always has Hammond C2's listed for around $1,300 but they come with a tone cabinet. After shipping you'll still have enough cash to invest in a Trek, a Leslie and hook up kit. With some cash to spare.

You can get a hammond A100, C2, C3 with leslie for under 3000, you just gotta look on craigslist or other classifieds or ask around.

As for it breaking, you just have to have it maintained and oil it once a year, (which most churches dont, and thats probably why they break). Even if something does happen to it, its not expensive to fix.

as for the motif I'd get the s90xs as it has the same sounds and cost 1200 less

so we cantrust buying one on ebay?

you just have to check their ratings

smaller in size or price? You could get the hammond XK3C, but at $2300, then thats reaching the price of a real organ. I would suggest the xk1 at $1300

Honestly, I think that the closest thing to a original hammond is not the newer digital ones, or kords, but the Nord!!! The have nearly MASTERED the sound of the hammond. And they have ALOT of different models to choose from. They have single manual 61, 73, and 88-Key models. And they even have dual manuals 61-key versions. (the name of the model is the "C1" I think)

But I still think you all shoud just go for a orgianal A100/B3/C3. You can always try to duplicate something but it will NEVER be as authintic as the ORIGINAL!!! lol

I hope you're not referring to a spinet organ like a M3 or something. Those don't belong in churches at all.

As for maintenance, just for reference. I just ran across an a100, for it to be serviced, new preamp and labor I was quoted $495. The organs aren't ubberly expensive to maintain and if maintained regularly then costly repairs usually could be prevented. The key is PMCS (Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services).
