At my morning service, it's more traditional. Hymns, congregational, quartet, etc. The youth choir sings some pretty contemporary stuff, but that's about it.

At my evening service, it's way more Praise and Worship.

I'd say a bit of all that were listed except rock at my current church. My old church seemed to be stuck on hymns and only hymns...

Some of our musicans make sure they play everything.  ?/? You can be playing praise and worship and next thing you know it's James Brown.  :D I just learned to go with the flow.

Current church: Traditional choir singing and congregational hymns every Sunday. Guitar player gets in lots of blues riffs. Quite boring lol

The new church I'm going to (beginning first Sunday in Dec.) will be a mix of everything you've listed above but sub jazz for that down south blues style gospel. They are 90% traditional but the pastor wants a change and so does 2 out of the 4 choirs, their current musician can't take them there.

Im playing it's not that bad anymore. But the bass player and the drummer did play James Brown on "somehow I made it" Sunday morning. I will make a new post where you can see my church.

I guess Praise & Worship mostly. Pastor J tends to go into an old school/congregational medley from time to time.

I really miss singing hymns.  :-\ :(

We have a pretty good balance between traditional gospel, quartet music & praise & worship.

We do mostly Contemporary stuff.. a lot of Israel.. some hymns.. some rock.. Hillsongs, Munizzi.Tomlin ... We usually do 2 or 3 up tempo songs and then 2 or 3 slower ones.. The usual amougt though is 5 songs.. Then one for the offertory... The choir does some Brooklyn Tab & Christ Church stuff... I'd lke to see us get a little more.. gospelesque in what we do..

This is the first real church I have been in.. and I have been here for going on 10 years.. I like this church though.. it is pretty diverse...

At my old church, we had this elder who would get up an do a James Brown dance (in the Spirit of course  ;)).  At my current church we play mostly P&W and rock with an occasional gospel song (ie; Israel Houghton) thrown in....oh that we would one day arise and get funky  :(.  Speaking of funk, you know that church choir gets down when you see a spray bottle of Febreeze sitting on top of the bass player's cabinet  :D.

Exactamundo.  Hey, maybe we should throw one of Fred Hammond's new songs at our beloved Director of Worship and Fine Arts  ;).
