...and i called! How absolutely uncharacteristic of me!!!  I had gotten her number two days ago and totally forgot to call. Last night i remembered and was determined to call back. So i did. The convo went so well. It was one of those short and very sweet convos. She has that deep, husky voice that some women have and that i totally love! What actually got me was that very first "Heeeyyy!!!" -in that deep, husky drawl i described above- when she picked up the phone. It was like she was waiting for me to call. Every word and sentence was meaningful and delightful and i loathed the moment i would hae to tell her goodnight. However i had to say those horrible, fateful words. My only consolation was that that "Goodnight" did not signal the finality of a delightful event that would never occur again, but rather one that would most definitely occur again. I asked her when she would be coming home and she said in two weeks' time. I expressed my disappointment that it could not be sooner and she uttered one of the most important phrases from the convo "We will definitely talk before then." Absolutely delightful stuff.  |

Ah!!! I see now. Unfortunately there is no reference thread to this at all. I haven't talked about this lady before. We had known each other since middle school and we lived in the same neighborhood and played together and stuff. Fast forward 4 years and i am in my freshman year while she was about to graduate HS. All of a sudden i noticed how nice she looked. "Things" started happening when she came around: faster heart rate, stupid grin, eagerness to impress and please her...the usual stuff. We told each other how we felt and such but nothing happened. Fast forward another 6 years to the phone call mentioned above and the rest is history. This is the short version. I'm too tired to type. As it turns out, i could have had the "digits" about 11 years ago. |
