Byron Cage - "I Can't Hold It" ft. The Great Calvin Rodgers...Nuff Said
Lol. There's no beef everyone...lol...Just a little something to get your attention. Everyone's coming ot with with their own personalized shout these days, and I personaliy love what everyone is bringing to the table. It's not a matter of "OUT-DOING" I think it's just having fun in Jesus name...Taking musicianship to another level...The Bible does say afterall in Psalms 98:1 "O sing unto the Lord a NEW song; for he hath done marvellous things: His right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory!!! Now if ya'll will excuse me...I've had enough of this typing mess...I'm finna go cut a step right quick...Ya boy is in need of a serious breakthough!!!

If wasn't for the fact that that sounded EXACTLY like TYE TRIBBET & GA, then I'd say he was going at him. That's either showin' respect to Tye Tribbet & G.A., or Byron and his people were too lazy to come up with a shout-song of their own, so they went with what they knew would work.
Then again, that's the music industry, lol.

Uh... I don't hear it. Vashawn Mitchell-y? Maybe... but Tye? Not to me. That Warner Bros. (or Tom & Jerry) was killin' though. Brought back memories. I love cartoons...

4:06 - 4:26 sounds like Tye 5:42 - 5:47 sounds like Tye
There are other little parts that are just expected in a shout that they both used so I'm not going to point them out.
Now that it's been pointed out I started to compare "I Made It Through" with "I Can't Hold It" and the latter seems more boring to me, however it seems like something someone would actually play in church and people would shout. Tye's sound like something people sit down and watch.

They had some nice moves, but what they did will not have the same impact that Tye had on Shout music.

Sorry but NOTHING in that track sounded Anything like Any of Tye's bumps. Byron's stuff is ALOT more churchy (thank GOD! lol) Tye's bump's are kinda busy. To me, they really dont focus on the fact that people are actually shoutin' and praising GOD to that music. It's just more of "Yo, the band is playing and killing!!!" And thats not what its all about. And Honestly, Byron's bump is a little better but it'll still have you thinkin' "Okay, let praise GOD, lets give him all the prai-- Um, is that Tom and Jerry???" Shouting music shouldn't make you think let that but its supposed to aid people in give GOD praise. So, REALLY, it's not about the musicians AT ALL!!!
I know I just got REALLY deep, but thats just my input! lol

I actually asked four people what they thought of the song, and they all said, 'That sounds a lot like Tye Tribbet'. I mean, I don't know ... I guess it depends on whose listening.

I think a little of Tye's style is mixed in there, but this is definitely not Tye. Sooner or later, people are gonna start sounding similiar cuz this is our culture. Unless we step out of the norm and truly bring something out the box, this discussion will keep going on with different artist's names.

Tye had based i made it through off tom and jerry so they kinda took his idea. kinda unoriginal. It bored me, but honestly almost anything churchy bores me so im kinda biased. I made it through was wayy better. There are much better songs on his cd like "I give you praise" and "in the midst".

Hey lay off the title man!!! lol. It was just an attention grabber... But Nah guys...From musical standpoint the only reason that it sounds so similar to Tye's shout is because it's in the same key. A flat is a favorite key of those who shout...Notice all of Tye's shouts end up in A flat...From the first one he put out "My Joy" featuring John P. Kee then "Still Have My Joy" and even this last one "Made I Through" Thats what separates John P. Kee's shouts too. Notice the Chris Kee clips...No one talked about how John P. Kee's shout sounded the same as Tye's, because John P. Kee's shout was in F sharp a whole step down from Tye's...So to the ear it didn't sound the same as a lot of the other shouts we've heard. I like the Byron Cage shout personaly...Plus it was refreshing to hear Calvin Rodgers doing some shout music...That was definitely a first for me...I just think it would have done Byron Cage some justice to maybe pick another key...Like do something in C sharp or D and put a classical feel on it...No one else would ever think of doing that...
