Trouble muting strings when slapping!!?
« on: November 21, 2009, 10:43:36 PM »
Hey LGM fam -

I'm fairly new at the bass (I'm mainly a keyboard player)... but I have gotten so frustrated with getting my technique correct as far as muting my strings when I slap bass.

Can any of you guys offer some advice on what you did when you were a beginner in slapping?  I need some help here.

thanks...

Fanto,

I typically use both my left hand and right wrist when muting. Muting when slapping is somthing that will just come with practice. It will be frustrating, but keep at it and it will become second nature.
I play a LTD ESP C-305 Bass

On your fretting hand, take your unused fingers and touch the unused strings to mute them. hard to explain in words.
