I didnt watch the video, but i think the problem is that Oprah is so influential to not only millions of women, but millions of Christian women. Thats probably why its a big deal.

If they are true Christians this will have no effect.. There is nothing that I can conceive of that would make me not believe what I know to be true.. The universe declares his glory for sure.. and the Hebrew scriptures SCREAM the salvation we received on the cross.. from the holidays to construction of the tabernacle of Moses.. to the prophets.. to the thousands who saw him after he was killed. Even if it had all been a "passover plot" and he didn't really die on the cross .. ( as if...  ::))just from what we know about the scourgings that the Romans gave.. he certainly wouldn't have been up and walking about without a mark on his body from the beatings he took.. and mind you he got beaten more than once.. so all this testifies to what we as true believers know to be true.. so whatever Oprah thinks, if it is contrary to those truths, will only mislead those who are already dead. If you aren't a Christian then this all fits right in with your world view.. but if you are the this is just another statement from a misguided rich chick ... I'll pray for her.. because all her money don't mean squat if she believes what she says and dies with it...

ok, so i finally watched it, and i'm seeing a potential witch hunt.

1. So oprah said whatever people thinks she said. Big Whoop. she aint the author of my faith. Ninjas be ackin like she the pope.

2. in i dont hear her negating Jesus sacrifice, but moreso choosing to focus on his paradigm while He walked the Earth, referred to the "Christ consciousness", hmm, sounds like "kingdom thinking" to me.

3. at 1:07, she prefaces her statements with, "what I hear you say is...." she is making note of the fact that this is what the author is saying.

4. regarding the "one way" thing, well, there ARE MANY ways to LIVE, and MANY ways man will be able to see God, but only ONE WAY by which he will say "well done, my good and faithful servant." errybody that finally sees Him, wont necessarily have a happy ending.

5. re: god in man's image, first, she was reading what someone else wrote, and she said, "that's how i felt", not that's how i FEEL.  Does she feel like that now? i dunno, i forgot to ask her at thE tea party.

<t-block, put me in Gb rite quick...>
6. Looking at Jesus differenly: Well, too many people seem to like the romanticized "beat-to-a-pulp-stuck-up-on-a-cross-Jesus".

I choose to revel in the "master-teacher-while-on-the-earth-Jesus",

the "He-man-kick-down-the-gates-of-hell-keys-snatchin-Jesus",

the "fulfiller-of-the-promise-Jesus",

the "advocate-to-the-Father-Jesus"

the"holy-ghost'-dispatching-Jesus"

So, looking at him different aint so bad.

i do believe that she is treading dangerous ground, and those that dont THINK FOR THEMSELVES, could be misled, BUT, people shouldnt look to a TALK SHOW HOST for spurchal guidance. Big  mistake.

Make sure your house is clean, and invite the people over thereby to see a clean house, instead of worryin about somebody else's venetian blinds..(not directed at any one here, but moreso those that feel the 'burning need' to expose "the anti-christ that is Oprah".)

Does this have anything to do with the announcement of her pending retirement?  Although I highly respect her for her business savvy, Oprah has nothing to do with my salvation.  She's not a minister, she hosts a talk show.  If anybody changed their views because Oprah said it, that's on them, not Oprah.

It's on Oprah, too. If she's causing people to turn away from the faith or not even seek who Christ is then she may be on a course to have a date with a large millstone at the Lake of Fire Inn.

The Penthouse Suite, of course.
