Just got a GB Shuttle 6.0
« on: December 10, 2009, 10:48:23 PM »
I just got a great deal on a GB Shuttle 6.0 that I just couldn't pass up.. I was going to get another cab for my SWR/1212L setup.. but when this came along I too the money I had been saving for that and got the GB.. all I can say is wow... what a great little amp... it does everything that my SWR does.. except for some of the electronics.. and it only has speakeron connectors... but I like it a lot and it is more in line with what I was wanting to begin with. I hope that I can sell that brand new SWR though  :-X... but the GB is a great amp.. I am still amazed at how light it is....

I am really impressed with it's sound.. very clean... not too complex... just enough functionality and umph to make my day. The 3.7 lbs is great too.

+1

Genz's Shuttle series is serious.....I just reluctantly sold my 6.0 and bought a 9.0.  Def a good move!  The 9.0 seems to have more lows and a bit more warmth than the 6.0 but it could just be the additional headroom playing tricks on my ears.  Either way, I like what I hear and couldn't be happier.

+1 Welcome to the club. I love my 6.0. Lightweight, good power, great sound combined with my Avatars (especially the 4 ohm cabs) @Bullitt, how much did you get for the 6.0. I'm thinking about making the same move when I get some extra $$.

I just did a search using my local craigslist.

Yep couldn't find a single shuttle for sale :( oh well I guess that goes to show you how much people love their shuttles.

There's a guy selling a 6.0 for less than $500 on Talkbass. Search out 'Canine Cancer Sale'.

Wow, that's a great price considering they go for $699 new! I'm a micro amp junkie now. Just copped a Markbass LMIII and I have my eye on the Ibanez Promethian and GK MB2500. I may be selling or trading my Shuttle 3.0.

I was hesitant about making the move at first but I don't regret it one bit.  PM'd you on the pricing question.

This isn't fair!
This is like waving a piece of chocolate cake in front of an morbidly obese person who is trying their hardest to lose weight.

I'm interested but I have to pass on it

This is one thing I don't really like about marriage........

I know you're probably kidding, ph, but marriage and bass gear can peacefully coexist. You probably have to buy her something first though... ::)

Somethings to beware of Re Shuttle amps

Shuttles require CLEAN power. On a few occasions, my amp didn't make a sound. I found out later that there was nothing wrong with the amp. If it is not  getting  enough clean power, it  won't make a sound. Inadequate voltage can be a problem. Check out this link. Scroll down to Agedhorses long link. It explains it.

I just crossed the grand oasis to "Shuttledom" myself. I traded my GK 1001 RB II for a GB Shuttle Max 12. I'm lovin' how light it is in comparison to the GK, total power and the awesome tones I can get from it. Now to get a lighter cab. Avatar here I come! 8)
