Thanks for the headz up.  After beating MW & MW2 I haven't been playing FPSs.  Free is always a good price....

Yea. I like Nexuiz. You don't even have to "install" it. Just download and run the executable. Nexuiz comes with online play built-in too, with a list of servers. OpenArena does online play, but you have to "know" the address of the server you're connecting to.

I'm a noob with FPS. I was getting killed in Nexuiz over the weekend. I usually play RTS (real-time strategy) games. There is a free one on Linux, that is Command & Conquer-ish. It needs a little more refining though. I haven't check if it is also available on Windows.

I don't play FPS online.  I get slaughtered.  There thousands of young men without jobs who do nothing but play Modern Warfare online all day...learning every map like the back of their hand.  They pray for fresh meat like me.

There is this one crazy one on the list: Postal 2. I don't know how it made it to the "free" list, but it only costs $8. It has rough language and graphics, so I won't post a video.

Savage 2 looks really good too.

I shudder, thinking of the number of hours i have spent playing Unreal Tournament 2003 with my friends. We had these massive all-night sessions where we would set the computer bots to "God-like" and plaaaaaaaaay.

Then i moved into RTS games (Starcraft, Warcraft, Civilization).

Unfortunately we won't be able to do our starxraft thing until next year. I am in Nigeria and the internet connectivity is not the best. The lag would be terrible.

Starcraft 2 looks really cool but I am waiting for Diablo 3.

Sweet. I plan to visit there in a couple years. It depends on whether I go to Europe or Africa.

Im more of a Flight Sim kinda guy....

The Best Flight sim video ever made




The above movie is @6 years old.. so it is no longer the best flight sim movie ever made.. but it is still a good example of what can be done when you have a bunch of guys going head to head in teams online... maybe bomber escort... shipping escort.. ground work.. patrol.. lots of fun.. but you need a decent PC to do it right. Some of these guys I have been knowing since 2001.

I don't play video games to much but it would be a nice idea to mix all these realistic type games online. Say like one big mission game. Say like you had one game where they are having a street fighter tournament and you could show up and join the fight. You could leave there and fly to a football stadium and be a person in the crowd on one of the madden football games. You could even go down to the field and play. lol You can then leave there and drive down the street go to a skate board tournament... :D

There is a pretty gOod game that comes close to that. Its called Shenmue 1 and 2. You would need a Dreamcast though...:)
