Music Notation Software
« on: December 24, 2009, 09:43:30 PM »
Do you know of any good music notation software, especially for guitar (like tabs, chords, etc.) ?/?

I am currently searching the internet, but I would like to know your trusted recommendations :)

I am willing to spend up to $20, but I would like to find something free ($0) ;D

Thanks :)

I think Noteworthy Composer is free, or nearly free. But it's just for PC's, AFAIK...

You can get a pretty good version of Finale (PrintMusic) for around $100. It does TABs and guitar chords.
Check online at http://www.finalemusic.com/PrintMusic/ for features, then GuitarCenter and other online music stores for deals on the price.

$100  :o   Once again, you get what you pay for!  Thanks, I'm in the process of asking the Holy Spirit to guide me :)

We use Print Music here at home and have for years.
It used to be $75, but they've upped the price in recent years and I had to pay a $25 upgrade fee.
IMHO, it's totally worth it.
fyi: I've used NotePad before and it's ok, but being that it's free or cheap, it's very limited in its capabilities.

:)  I just downloaded a 30 day-trial of Finale Print Music 2010.  I'll see how it works.  Thanks.
