Money burning my pocket---want to buy something
« on: January 16, 2010, 11:16:25 PM »
I am on the look for another keyboard/workstation. I'm looking to buy a motif classic/es, MO6 korg m50, or fantom X. Should there be ANYBODY with one of these boards for sell please message me. I have a little bit of money i wanna spend. Maybe you have a piece of equipment you wanna get rid of. I do live in North Carolina, and I don't really want to drive. I will definitely do paypal though!!!
Keys, bass, drums, trombone, I sing a lil bit too lol

hmmm....that's funny! You're like the third person I've read/heard that from! A lot of people say something about the keys being rather fragile (easy to break) and the triggers under the keys being fragile as well (messing up the touch response) being that this keyboard would bounce around between my studio and live performances, I guess i need to mark that one off of my list lol

yeah, thats exactly what happened to mine, a couple of keys lost their touch sensitivity. I sold it instead of paying to fix it.

plus the Mo6 was missing a bunch of sounds and the limited polyphony makes it hard to layer sounds. I'd consider the roland XP-50 if I were you.

Check craigslist, you might find something there, and you could probably negotiate a lower price.

Although I am quite familiar with Rolands XP line and I am die hard fan of them. I am looking for a more up to date keyboard though, with today's good quality sounds like the fantom x/g, motifs, etc!!!

Korg M50 is good, just go with the 88 keys. They're lighter than most boards and you also can download the vintage keys collection of 32 more sounds. I also discovered that if you hit the joy stick on some of the organs it actually can speed the leslie effect.

Hey, I have a Motif 6 classic.  The upper C key does not work other than that it's in excellent condition.  I have a Motif es6 and a Motif 8 classic so I might consider selling the classic 6!

what do you think about the pianos? are they better than the previous korg models (triton, extreme, tr) organs, brass, and eps?!?

The only other korg I had was an X3, but at the studio we practice there's a triton and the pianos sound weak compared to the M50. The eps are excellent since I used to own both a rhodes and wurlitzer  I can the X50s are good. Most of the brass is weak, but u may need to tweak, organs are decent.

Dont forget to go to the korg site to download the vintage keys collection.

Drum tracks are awesome and you can mix the different styles to get a unique beat.

Now what part of the site would I go to download the vintage keys collection? And exactly what does the collection consist of? Sorry for so many questions for the last day or two. But my local music store sold their display model over a year ago and never bought another one. So, it helps to retrieve any information I can from you, since you have one. I'm just trying step out and be different from the norm. Everybody and they grandma swear up and down there's nothing better than a motif, mo, or s90es but I beg to differ lol!!!

Thats a desent choice. Just be careful with that board. It's a light weight and seems very easy to break. However the sound patches they have in there are great. Especially that stereo grand piano sound. Isreal and New Breed was in concert and i saw that M50 on stage...

No problem with the questions here a little more about the vintage keys collection and I'll PM you the link for the download.

Pro Vintage Keys
This collection of 32 classic keyboard sounds was programmed by Jack Hotop to provide more expressive, natural sounding programs, with improved velocity switching (up to 8-way switching!). Constantly referring to classic recordings by top artists across many genres of music, special attention was paid to Controller Modeling for accurate Stereo Panning, Tremolo, Key Off, String Muting, and Tone Control.

Likewise, custom vintage FX assignments like Phase Shifter, Stereo Vintage Wah, Flanging, Stereo Tube PreAmp, Distortion, Ring Mod, Tape Echo, Reverb & more were designed to get the classic settings heard on the recordings that shaped the legacy of these timeless instruments.

Pad assignments, Arps & Drum Track grooves are provided for every sound.

M50 program locations: E096-E0127

Both PCG and Editor files are provided. For the Editor file you must select a BANK File, not an ALL file to be able to load them. This way you can load a complete single Bank rather than the whole state of your keyboard. For more info read the manual that came with your editor file.

These files require version 1.10 or higher.
