kent armstrong is who makes the ken smith pickups.  Ken just slaps his name on them.  Call up kent and ask him :-)

With that being said I put them in the stank nasty.
how do i get in touch with kent?

I am not sure what I am going to do with the brice yet. It's not really in selling condition right now. I need to get a preamp and the pickup switches back in there. If I do sell it I will probably sell the rogue also.

Here's a clip of kent's custom pickups. My ears tell me he proably winds smith's custom pickups a little differently but you can here the similarties.

Also here's a link to kent's handmade line of pickups. http://www.kentarmstrong-handmade.com/

You would probably have to email him to check his 5 string sizes.

Finally got around to recording some samples. I was waiting for my preamp to arrive. I didn't think anything could trump getting a new bass but my new preamp may have done it. I got my hands on an old out of production trace elliot GP12 smx preamp. It has dual blendable front ends 1 High Q FET solid state and 1 High Q full 150V tube channel. 12 band graphic eq and dual band compression and more connections than you will ever need.

Call him: 802-843-1065 (or email...don't have the email addy in my phone).

I've got a set of his "ken smith" custom pup's in one of my basses.  Jeremy is right tho, Kent does make the Smith pups....Ken Smith just puts his name on them. The tone (to my ears) does sound slightly different in my bass but I think that's due to different wood combinations than the Ken Smith basses but as for the pickups go, they're identical (again, to my ears).
