That's a lot of cheese to pay an old guy. :)  I like McNabb but I don't know about paying anyone on the downside of there career that much cheese.

Agreed. And, one that isn't, necessarily, leading your team to a playoff appearance.  :-\

Mah boy gets his own thread for his performance last night.

Passing:

20 for 28 (71%)
333 yards
4 TDs, 0 INT

Rushing:

8 attempts for 80 yards
2 TDs.

WHOA!

Vick became the first player in NFL history with at least 300 yards passing, 50 yards rushing, four passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns in a game.

He hasn't thrown an interception or lost a fumble this season.

He has the highest QB Rating in the league.

He's been the best player in the NFL this year.  Vick has been what I thought he could be when he was drafted.  His speed and athleticism, paired with his great arm, give defenses too much to cover on any given play.  He isn't a RB with an arm anymore.  He's dissecting defenses with his arm.

Playing under Andy Reid has helped.

If he keeps this up, do you think he has a shot at the MVP?  Do you think the NFL would allow that?  I don't see anyone else who deserves it more through 10 weeks.

If he is consistent throughout the rest of the season, the NFL "HAS" to give it to him.  Its no one that is even close to the way he is performing weekend and week out.

A shot?  He'll shatter the MVP voting if he does anything near what he's done so far this year AND takes his team deep into the playoffs.

Uh, if I may, I'd like to submit one name into the voting...Phillip Rivers.

May, possibly, shatter Marino's single-season passing record. If he, too, can take his team deep into the playoffs, I believe an argument can be made for him. And, Vick needs to remain healthy for MVP consideration.

Now, with that said, I believe that Vick would get the nod (and, as we all know, I'm not that high on the man...but the athlete can NOT be denied this season).

Concerning the former, I watched a decent amount of the game last night and saw something I never thought I'd see from Vick...he decided to run after reading through his progressions (about 4 of them) and, even prior to takin' off, he took one last look downfield. It got to the point where during one play, I actually yelled 'RUN!' at the screen.  :-\

Never would've done that when he was with Atlanta.  :-\

I want Vick to win it...however, to say it's a one man race is ridiculous.  For instance, the numbers that Philip Rivers is putting up are crazy:

Completing 65.4%  2944yds   19tds  8int  102.9 qb rating

So the biggest issues I see right now is:

-Uncertainity of 2011 Football Season. Has anyone been following the labor mess?

-Tiki Barber is coming out of retirement. Most assumptions have it being money as the main reason he's coming back.

Any thoughts?

I'm not optimistic regarding the current talks.  The fact that they've extended the deadline twice is encouraging; however, the owners' refusal to be transparent concerning the books is a major sticking point.  How can they want money back from the players if they are unwilling to show any cause for such action?

Right! I just think it's crazy that millionaires and billionaires are arguing over money....SMH! From what I've heard, they are fine with the rookie wage scale thing and they are fine with the 18 game schedule (I might be wrong on that). The issue is that sharing of the revenue. That's the sticking point.

I think a deal has to be done because the NFL is the most popular sport in America right now. Why blow it over money?

Because money makes the NFL go 'round.  If owners and players are forced to go long enough without it, an agreement will be made, for sure.

I am following it very closely but at the end of the day may hopes aren't up for any immediate resolution. I'm looking for this thing to drag on a little while longer.

They'll have to. At the end of the day, these NFL players can play in some other football leagues and blow them up in terms of notoriety and popularity.

What do the owners do then?
