Ladies have you ever had your eyebrows threaded?

This is my third time getting it done. I love it! It lasts much longer than waxing and hurts less IMO. Its more defined too. If you haven't tried it, you should...

I arch my own eyebrows. People be asking me to do theirs but I always say no lol. Anyways, what's threading?

I used to arch my own, but they said its not good.

The indians do it. They have a roll of regular thread, they take a piece, tie it some how, then start grazing your eyebrow pulling the hair from the root. Then they throw the string away. Its so precise and last about four weeks.

Its probably on youtube lol. Waxing is worse Koda. So is tweezing.

Oh my! Lol. I've never got my eyebrows waxed. I just use the razor thingy.

I was first introduced to threading by America's Next Top Model when one of the models had a really low hairline. I mean homegirl had like no forehead... LOL... Her hairline came almost down to her eyebrows!! Tyra made her get her hairline threaded and everyone went on and on about how painful it is. Since then, the little booths started popping up in every mall in Atlanta and Alabama... Everyone is getting their eyebrows threaded. Not me though. I hate pain and I have really thin eyebrows so I only do them when I'm going some place special. I always do waxing in the salon or tweezing at home. Neither of those is painful to me.

She got her hairline threaded?!? Oh my lordy! Now that would be painful I'm sure...

For some reason my eyebrows breakout everytime I've gotten them waxed...and they swell up, but not with the threading. No redness either. Tweezers kill me! Now that's painful lol

Really? Tweezers feel good to me, lol. But I haven't done that in a min. I use razors.

In cosmetology school, they advise us not to do this, it causes the hair to grow back shorter, and thicker, like stubble. Razors stimulate hair growth...

I say, if you can deal with tweezers, then you can deal with threading. BTJMO... Threading is quick, and costs a little more, but the results are well worth it.

Waxing is also cool, but if you can avoid the nail shop, I would encourage it... They arent the most sanitary places to get your brows done... Whereas if you find a nice spa or salon... You will have a better experience.

I went to a nail shop last summer, and had my brown waxed... She used wax, tweezers and the litte razor thingy...Well when I got up, I was in love with my brows... they were perfect. I went out with my friends, and then came home to wash the make up off... and I only had 1 1/8 eyebrows.... >:(

The threading has less of a margin of error in my opinion...

Exactly BX...exactly. when I first got it, the lady explained all those things you just did.

It only cost like ten bucks too. Well worth it...

Same here! I've been having my brows threaded for quite awhile now and I do love the results.  But, I ain't gonna lie, it's PAINFUL!  >:(  What's really painful though is when I get my upper lip threaded.....she gets every last tiny hair out by the root!

This would happen to me when I used to get them waxed. But only when she went over that spot more than once, which is what you're not supposed to do! Sometimes the wax wasn't hot enough & they had to do that spot over.  Once when I got the razor thing done in the hair salon, the guy that did it didn't use any antiseptic afterward and talk about swelling and infection!  :P

Allergies to the wax is common... You will look like Martin did when he fought Tommy Hearns if you arent careful :D

A lot of times, you get burned cause the wax is too hot... NOT  a factor in.. threading. :D
