Songs of Praise came to my church last week to record a performance that will be broadcasted on the 23rd May @ 5pm. Only snag is that it will be screened on BBC1, which means it can only be viewed in the UK :-(. The BBC are sending us an unedited DVD of the performance, so I will grab a copy of that and I will post some vids for all you guys on the other side of the pond very soon :-).
Any LGM members in Australia will have a chance to see it too. The show will go out on ABC1 at a later date, but we don't have a confirmed date as yet. I will let you know when I do.
It's a huge moment for my church and we are really excited about the show. Combined with the viewers in Australia, it will predcited that it will be watched by 12-14 million people! That's quite mind blowing!
The BBC did choose the songs though. We tried our best to modernise them and give them a little more of a groove, but that was met with immediate disapproval. The performance was much more conservative than what we are used to, but we feel privileged to have the BBC in our home and it was a great night.
