that's some good stuff SK, thanks
those cushion leg caps may be the answer. where can i get them?

The rubber floor tom tips from Pearl are the?3 Air Suspension Feet R-40 (http://www.music123.com/Pearl-R-40-3-Floor-Tom-Rubber-Tip---3-Pack-447972-i1140385.Music123). I picked mine up a Sam Ash years ago but Guitar Center or other retailer of major brands... carrying Pearl Masters series and Reference series kits should have them.

The wood that I was telling you about can be cut at Lowe's or Home Depot. A prefabricated disc can be gotten via music stores. it is made by Pearl, PRP-140 Conga Reso-Plate (http://www.interstatemusic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_217192).

its more of an acoustic thing of where you're playing. I sometimes have this problem and I just tune the drums to the room. Generally its the bottom head in my situation. (Top head lower than bottom)
