1. One lady just brought up a pretty good point: Because if there was one leak that resulted in a bizarre fractal mold growth, imagine how many smaller, albeit harmless, molds you've probably sucked up unknowingly because they didn't have enough mass that you would feel them through the package?
Now THAT makes me feel ill.
2. (Though it may sound extra-deep or whatever, God has really been dealing with me this year about his intentions for our bodies and taking better care of our temples, etc.), this is all the more reason for Christians to take better care with what we put into our bodies. I think I told y'all yesterday that another lady reported another mold incident with CapriSun within a day or two, and she lived in a totally different state. A commenter on a blog reported that a few years ago, she was at a high school party and half-way through a jug of store-bought tea, a big glob of brown slime came out of the jug... of course this is after others had already drunk half the jug. She hasn't bought tea since.
I think much of these food issues we have today could be avoided if we made more of our own foods and beverages. But yeah, values have changed... and we don't have time for that. We don't have time to fill our bodies with the food God provided for us, so we get a bunch of processed stuff and wonder why we end up eating mold, salmonella, e coli, sand, ungodly doses of salt, sugars we can't even pronounce, food coloring and all kinds of other stuff.
I'm obviously not about to go "back to Eden" with my food consumption. But I can start somewhere. If God be my help, I will make my own beverages... maybe except when I have my semi-annual Dr. Pepper craving. I already started baking my own bread. But seriously, take a look at our refrigerators and cupboards and freezers. Everything we have is processed. We can't even make french fries. We gotta buy those frozen. Everything. By the way, I can't believe I - the Queen of All Things Unhealthy - just typed that. God is really working on me. LOL It's just ridiculous. We need to get our values back. When I was growing up, we did have Kool-Aid, but my mom made sweet tea, fresh lemonade, orangeade, watermelon juice, fresh squeezed orange juice, and all kinds of other stuff every other day or so.... Nowadays, we don't have time because we gotta work more to make more money to buy more stuff to look more better to get more opportunities to make more money. Where does it end?
And "more better" was intentional.
