How to get a speeding ticket dismissed in Detroit

I do not live and Detroit and this may not be true so if someone from that area could please shed some light on the situation it will be greatly appreciated

evidently according to the article in some areas Detroit has set the speed limits low. Thus many people are getting tickets.

in 2006 Micighan legislature passed a law saying all speed limits should be set around what 85% of the people drive on that street.

Meaning if most people (85%) do 65 mph or less on a street than the speed limit should be 65 mph.


So some people are able to get their ticket dismissed if the local government did not do a study to see what most people drive on that street! Especially if a lot of people are getting speeding tickets

Some areas (Redford, Dearborn Heights, Warren, Beverly Hills) have very aggressive traffic enforcement (revenue generation).  You can be on a stretch of road and see the speed limit drop significantly, even though the flow of traffic and the number of lanes doesn't change.  Usually in those municipalities they give you the option of pleading guilty to "obstructing traffic" which is a $100+ fine, but more importantly, NO POINTS!!!
