please pray for our city cops. we've had 3 killed in 2 months. 2 while wearing the uniform. 2 more were shot at and missed over the weekend when they stopped someone. thank you.

will do

I'm starting to wonder if it is the heat getting to people causing the increase in prayer request ...

Praying... I read the story of a Chicago officer, I think his name was Bailey who was gunned down by a group of people trying to steal his car.  He'd just finished a shift.  He actually was eligible to retire, but he loved his job so much that he kept pushing it back.  He was going to retire soon, because he was about to reach the mandatory retirement age.  Just so sad.

The other officer mentioned in the story was a young guy just back from a 2nd tour in Afghanistan.  He had bought himself a motorcycle to celebrate his safe return, and someone killed him trying to steal it.  SMH...

Great post Pastor Rob! It is a very scary feeling for us here in Chicago, as a former Law Enforcement Agent, I can understand the anger that the Police Department has regarding the actions of our people.  We have had 4 Police deaths (3 murdered) this year and all 4 were related to the actions of the young black male.  For some reason we have completely lost it on the South and West sides.  Much prayer is needed but some type of action is also required. Maybe we need to start with a Change of Command at City Hall!

I'll continue praying.

I would think that prayer is needed not just for the cops, but for the people as well.

I'm ever reminded of II Chronicles 7:14.
