i have taken lessons from some people n they have basically given me the song written out and i play it. How does this help, how do i learn 2 play by ear through this? I am so confused.

I started out learning the keys by paper and chorded notes. but the more u learn the better you train your ear. it will all come. be blessed!!!

Have you voiced your concern to these teachers? Maybe they feel like they're giving you what you want. There are plenty of posts here on LGM that can help you to learn to play by ear. Just visit the Gospel Hangout forum and start learning.
