Yamaha MM8
« on: September 26, 2010, 01:58:00 PM »
Had a chance to play one last week;for me-that was one of the best feeling 88's I've played in a while.Have they change-improved it?Would it make a good controller? My friends' church is going that route;to use more with a computer.

Think it's about $600 cheaper than a MO8;which is a pretty decent board.

Its a good board.  The casing is cheap but who cares.  Dont drop it or bang it around and you should be good.

Great Board, I have had mind for about a year and no issues. Very Big!
I like the 88 keyboards but, I am going to have to get the MO6 because it is easier to carry around.  This furture move has nothing to do with the MM8. I just need a lighter and smaller board.

You just sparked an idea. I have the Privia which I love (MM8 are sick as well) but I do want something for traveling purposes. I didnt even think about that honestly.

I'd suggest getting a pro board like an S90 or a stage piano.

Most of those stage pianos are very heavy, aren't they?

idk...I just dont see the point in getting amateur gear for a church. It may be heavier, but it will also be of a higher quality.

Yeah thats true. I mean we dont have 15000 dollars worth of equipment but I try to get good quality stuff. I love 88 hammer keys but a 76 lightweight would be perfect for traveling convenience.
