I too think that these topics should be discussed, but it also depends on the poster's motives. The threads I saw were about gossiping, and not about praying for him or others who might have gone though something like this

@U13 exactly. Some people just exude excitement when stuff like this happens. I Corinthians 13:6 says not to rejoice in others' failures. If we're gonna discuss it from a constructive place, I'm all for it. But I have yet to see anyone raise (or spread) this topic who wasn't just trying to be messy or engage in gossip.

Y'all have a blast with this one. I'm too classy for it. Thank God for growth.

Its like the Koran burning pastor. I thought LGM would have been the first place to discuss this and I was waiting for someone to post on it but nobody did.

As regards Mr Long, I don't know what to say. We all have to be careful in our positions. These pastors satrt out with zeal but let sin creep in. They are no different from you or me.

I have said it before, I believe there is no sin as invasive or hard to get rid of as sexual sin.

Oh and for the record these things wouldn't incite gossip and such if people would just follow God and not some personality. People follow other people too much. Its like they are too lazy to seek God on their own. Sad.

I knew what this thread was about before clicking on it. I was wondering the same thing...I checked a couple of times to see if someone posted. I sort of assumed someone posted, but it was deleted....like with the Tonex threads.

Right now I side with Bishop Long only because one of his accusers was caught stealing from the church. However, I also sided with the lady who said a black female  threw acid on her face.  She later admitted she threw it on her face in a suicide attempt.

I'm with you Rue on this. I think that this is a sad situation that just needs prayer. I have always enjoyed hearing Bishop Long whenever I could and I hope this stuff isn't true about him.

I don't believe a word of the attack on Bishop Long. The devil is a desperate defeated liar and his lies will be exposed.

I don't know what to believe and am drawing no conclusions on either side of the issue.  The sad part is, even if Bishop Long is totally innocent, there will be many who will still believe the worst.  His reputation is tarnished for the forseeable future, unfortunately.

It's ashame when you hear stuff like this. I'm with Rue as well, we ought to lift up our brethren lest at any time we fall. First I pray that none of it is true and if it is, I pray that he repents and that he is restored.

A pretty known bishop in North Jersey was arrested for molesting several girls in the church. He denied all allegations, his wife and sons(who are very handsome BTW lol  stood by him. I believe the trial is still going on. I pray they aren't true. It's sad though, like LL said, the reputation has been severly wounded. If they are lies, how the heck can somebody start such a terrible rumor?!?  Where or why would young girls make up such a lie?

IDK. I'm praying for them nonetheless.

but it does have to do with the fact that we must keep ourselves girded and watch as well as pray, lest sin gains a toehold.

it does have to do with the fact we must not only keep people in prayer, but the body of christ as a whole, as this is an attack on the body at large. Not saying he did or didnt, but the fact that the subject matter exists is an attack in of itself.

how do we know that God isnt like,
