I just purchased a Kurzweil 2600x keyboard and I have been working on how to operate this keyboard. I need some help with setting up split combination's to use two different sounds simultaneously. Please help me out with any info you have, I will appreciate it so much.

have you googled the kurzweil 2600 forum. In my experience there has always been a group of people that get together and chat about their specific board on a forum dedicated to it.

The best place to call is Sweetwater. They love these boards. If you don't have the manuel it would be a good idea to order them. This board is awesome, complicated but awesome. I agree joining the forum will help also.

I used to have a 2661 - if you don't have the manuals for the 2600X, download them (2 of them) from the Kurzweil web site.

Kurzweil uses different naming convention.  Splits and layers are both done in SETUP mode.  You will build a setup for a split by first choosing what sound you want for Layer 1, then chosing the key range, and any possible transposition (usually octaves).

Then you set up Layer 2 to use the other part of the keyboard with the other sound.  I made splits for such things as bass guitar for below mid C and piano starting at mid C on up - once you get used to doing it, you can do it in a minute or two.

Check in the Setup section of the Musician's Guide.

Hey Jlc4703, I'm going to try that. I figured I would have to go to the setup area. Sounds like the answer, but I will keep you posted.

(berbie) I bought It from some one. I use to have the Juno Stage but I sold it in exchange for the Kurweil 2600x. I think I got a good bargain.... lol....
