I NEED ADVICE PLEASE (Guitar)

Ok so i go to a church that sits about 400 (not really into big churchs but God has me there)  I asked the drummer if he knew someone that plays guitar to give me lessons because i been playing for about 11 months now on and off. Now he's trying to get me to practice with  them and play. WHAT ON EARTH DO I DO? I mean i'm ok but im not "big church" good. What if i get up there to play and they like "Man  this dude is trash" WHAT IS THE EARLIEST ANYONE OF YOU EVER STARTED PLAYING AN INSTRUMENT AT A CHURCH AND HOW DID YOU GET BETTER? BECAUSE I DONT PLAY BY EAR AND THEY DO. I DONT REALLY GET PLAYING BY EAR EITHER

hey you gotta start somewhere... :-\

I started playing at a "big" church only after a year from learning on my own.  I'd say that i'm okay right now but I still need to improve.

The only way you get better is by playing and keep on practicing.  And if these guys are any good, you'll improve.

Playing with other people, makes you better in a hurry!

Don't try to do big things-simple is always best!

Make sure your "time" is on point!

Nothing sounds worse, than not playing on beat.

Practice, practice, practice!

Question-WHO are you playing for GOD or man?

"Crappy" playing For LORD with a correct heart is better than" see what I can do before man".

That being said,get in the game! Practice;show self approved.Music is an Ever-growing Learning Experience.
