Recording microphone for acoustic guitar and vocals
« on: September 02, 2010, 07:12:13 AM »
Hi all,

Only been playing guitar for about 18 months but i've been singing a while trying to combine the two uploading videos on Youtube.

I run a Apple MAC 24' monitor built in microphone but want a better sound. I've googled this and found lots of posts suggesting the Blues Snowball and the Samson Co1u are probably best two out there for a reasonable price without need for additional cables etc. After youtubing (if that's a word) reviews on these the Samson in my opinion sounds much better.

Just wondering if anybody has any other recommendations?? I'm looking to spend around 60-80GBP and may buy something much better spec down the line.

Thanks

Were you looking for a USB mic?

I've been pleased with my MXL 990. While it's not a USB mic, I believe they just came out with one...

Let me see...

Yep.

Looks like it's running around $120USD

No experience with Blue, really.

Hope that helps.
