Okay, listen. San Antonio lost GAME 1 to Memphis off of a LAST MINUTE SHOT...WITHOUT their star player. For some reason we seem to be forgetting that the yellow bunnies lost their Game 1 as well by NINE POINTS...and they had ALL of their stars AND home court advantage. Nowhere near as close as San Antonio's loss. Add to that the fact that Los Angeles has simply been playing very poorly as of late, and logic shows that a Lakers upset is more likely than a San Antonio upset. Again, I repeat -- Los Angeles is not the big bad monster everyone thinks they are. Right now, they're as vulnerable as they've ever been.

Quite frankly, I don't see either one of them being 'upset'. It's Game 1 for crying out loud. Spurs lost Game 1 to Denver in '05 and still went on to win the championship. Lakers lost game 1 to Houston as well in 2009 and still went on to win the championship. So let's not get in over our heads, here.
I don't think anyone was saying that they will definitely lose the series just because of a game one loss.  I, for one, am saying that I'd LOVE to see them lose.  LOL.

On a totally different note, I'd like to get some opinions on something I heard last night.  Before the double teams started, Melo was draining shots from everywhere.  Then, a commentator said, "the Knicks need someone else to score in order for them to win..."  Keep in mind, this was before the double-teams started.  At that time, my thought was, "If this dude is knocking down shot after shot, why do they need someone else to score?"  Can someone help me understand his rationale?  Again, I'm only speaking as if he weren't double-teamed.  Soon after he said that, Melo started getting doubled, so that statement became relevant.  But, again, the statement was made BEFORE the double teams started.
I believe that Melo remembers missing the key shot in Game 1 and he was maybe afraid of failing....*vonneshrug* I really don't know what he was thinking....all I know is the end of that game was HORRIBLE. I know good and dawg gone well they could've played better than that at the end of a crucial game. Maybe not....*vonneshrug*

Why did D'Antoni have a bigger, slower Melo trying to keep up with Delonte West anyway?  That didn't make sense to me.  From the replays, it didn't seem to make sense to Melo either.  He kept looking back at the inbounder, for some reason.

You can tell Melo kept looking back at D'Antoni as if he didn't know what was going on. D'Antonio just isn't the right coach for these guys...IMO. I think Mike Brown...the former Cavs coach...would fit in NY pretty well. Who knows who can coach Melo nem.

That's been an area of discussion in the NBA world lately, the future of the Knicks coach. Some believe they need more of a defensive coach. What do you think about the idea of keeping D'Antoni and them hiring like a "defensive coordinator"-type coach?

I'm not so sure about whether or not D'Antoni is the right coach.  Just a couple of months ago, he got his missing piece to the puzzle.   There was obviously a miscommunication somewhere last night on the last play, but with injuries to two of their big three, they were still within seconds of a victory.  D'Antoni had to be doing SOMETHING right.

I'm all for the idea.  It has worked for other squads.

I think the people in NY will definitely run D'Antoni away pretty soon if not sooner. The Knicks need to find a way to keep Donnie Walsh because he knows how to build a winning team.

The way that Derrick Rose is playing, I think a Bulls vs. Heat matchup would be the most exciting matchup in all the playoffs.

Noah, Boozer, and Rose

Lebron, D-Wade, and Bosh.

Wow.

I admire how you defend your Spurs!  However, if any team has a chance of being upset it's the Spurs.  I'm not saying that the Hornets can't knock off my Lakers, but the more likely upset would be the Spurs.  Memphis isn't as bad as everyone thinks they are...they did beat the Spurs twice this season.  The Hornets didn't beat us at all during the reg. season, and they played a near flawless game to beat us in the playoffs.  At the end of the day, I concur with you...I see neither the Spurs nor my Lakers losing the series, but anything is possible.

I just listened to the podcast for ESPN 1st & 10 and they got in a heated discussion over which player has the most pressure in the playoffs....LOL! Skip was saying it's Kevin Durant. I was like....WTW???...LOL! I agreed with everyone else who said Lebron James. He left Cleveland to get a title in Miami with Wade and Bosh. That debate was funny....LOL!

Yea, the most pressure is on Lebron.  He has the entire state of Ohio rooting for him to fail.  The media will be all over him if/when the Heat don't win it all.  They'll ask what his excuse is now that he has an excellent supporting cast (if you can call Dwayne Wade "supporting").

I would like to see Bulls vs Heat too but I think the Heat would win if Boozer and Deng don't play better.  :-\ :-\

I agree.  Even then it would be tough for the Bulls to win.

If the Bulls want to rely on one guy to carry them offensively, the Heat can rely on two...and both guys are better overall players.  The only thing that can beat the Heat is a very well balanced team that can find the open man.  Trying to rely on your stars won't work because the Heat have...better stars.   :-\

So let me give my predictions for tonight:

If Ginobili plays I think Spurs will win. If not, Grizzlies win.

Wow! This one is tough. I'll give the win between Thunder and Nuggets to the Thunder...barely.

I expect Lakers to win against the Hornets tonight. They will need to do a better job getting the ball to their big men.

What do you guys think about Brandon Roy's situation? He said he almost cried because he didn't get the playing time he thought he deserved.

You must be watching PTI....LOL!

Anyway, it's sad but he's been injured. I mean he just has to do what he can until he gets better. I kind of like him because he hasn't caused as much drama as many players in the league have.

Yep that's one of my favorite shows. Brandon Roy has been told by doctors that he only has 2 years left to play...PERIOD! So I can understand why he wants to play but he knows he can't play to the level they need him to right now.
