Don't start, Cordney.  >:(

I'd rather see the NFL lockout than the NBA, but that's just personal preference. I can't go a year without my Spurs, so I'm rooting for them to at least get 50 games in.

IJS...the last time we miss the majority of a season, they just gave the trophy to the Spurs.  As for the 2nd part, football is my favorite sport so I wish they would get it together

I was just talking to an NBA expert on twitter and he thinks that the lockout could actually eliminate 2 full seasons (the coming 2011-2012 AND the 2012-2013 season)......WOW!!! He thinks that the hard cap is the issue that neither side will soften up on. Owners want hard cap and players don't.

We may need an NBA season prayer line.....LOL!!!

It's going to be very painful for the NBA bro! See the whole Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony saga is what brought this about. I don't understand why Lebron is being mentioned as a cause of this problem but he is. The owners don't want the inmates running the asylum. They are going to do just like the NHL and keep the players locked out until they get the control they want.
Strike while the iron is hot!

Yeah the owners want a fair system in which every team has a chance for the title. Also the large guaranteed contracts will be a major issue. I've heard that owners want to get rid of mid-level exception as well...SMH!

I actually agree with the owners here...the players are over paid.  However,  it's the owners fault because this what they agreed to a couple of years back...smh

Interesting. To me they need to find middle ground somehow ASAP! Like I said, most have said we'll have a 50 game season or no season at all. This expert I talked to predicted 2 years...SMH! Somebody gotta compromise. To me, it's ridiculous. I think the players are saying they shouldn't lose money because of the poor decision-making of the owners. So idk, it doesn't look good to me, especially if both sides refuse to compromise their position on salary cap issue.

Some believe NBA needs revenue sharing system that MLB and NFL (well mainly MLB) has. But Idk if teams like the Lakers, Celtics or Heat would be in favor.

I also hear that if owners get their way regarding hard cap, Miami may have to unload one of the big 3. This situation could be revolutionary for the history of the NBA, especially for those who are tired of the same teams winning the title (Lakers, Celtics, Spurs, etc).

I also agree with owners. It will be interesting to see if the players stick together after the paychecks stop coming.  If you are a star with endorsements, you should be okay.  I heard someone saying some of the pros live paycheck to paycheck.

Exactly, the 12th man isn't too thrilled with this lockout!!!

(Lakers, Celtics, Spurs, etc).

Please do not include the Spurs with the Lakers (16) and the Celtics (17.)  Once they get to ten then we might let them in our prestigous league!!!

Von,

Can you edit the poll to ask a new question?

LIke how long will the lock out last?

Or something related to the NBA?

OAN: Do you think the NCAA and or the WNBA will get more time on TV now?

The NCAA gets plenty of TV time...the WNBA needs to be shelved!

To be honest, I'm surprised that it has lasted as long as it has.  It still needs more exposure.  Otherwise, it will become out of sight, out of mind for many, like it has for me.

On a different note, while it still exists, I'd love to take my girls to a Mystics game, just for kicks.

If the NFL lockout does persist, it's gonna really suck that Cam Newton didn't opt for another year at Auburn.

I saw that a WNBA game was on last night.  I didn't even CONSIDER watching it.

There's such a tremendous gap between the athleticism of the NBA vs. the WNBA.

Tennis is the only sport I would sit down and watch women play.
