I posted this in the drum room first as Robert "Sput" Searight is playing drums for this group, but everybody including myself is diggin' on the bass player so tough I had to bring it over here for you all too.  The group is called Snarky Puppy and they've got a CD and DVD available as well as more videos on YouTube if you're really diggin' ol boy.  Dude is groovin' right here.

After listening to this again, I can almost guarantee you that bass player is a huge fan of Stevie Wonder.  Around the 6:00 mark you can hear him somewhat emulating a Moog.  Almost sounds like he's using an octave pedal to achieve that effect.

Man, this band is RIDICULIOUS!!!!  This is one of the tightest projects I've ever seen....I love those Moog-ish sounds hes getting with the synth (don't remember if its in this vid or others) and your right, there's definitely an octave pedal being used in "Flood".

I'm getting the album! Thanks for sharing...

I like how, at the end, as he started to say something, they kicked back into the song and he quickly jumped back into his place - on the one - without missing the beat.

I have seen them live several times years ago, about 5-6 years ago. They opend up for Victor Wooten here in Dallas at the Grand Theatre a few times...Dude is nice and that is the same P-bass he was groovin back then.....they have added some pieces to the band since the last time I saw them. I am not sure if they are from Dallas but they have played here alot..
May God's Grace & Mercy smile upon you!

WOW!!! That was amazing... :o  It was just so clean...so professional...so musically dynamic.  Those guys get my vote.  I think I need to buy their album, because that's some good "cruising down I-85 in the summertime music".

I also have to admit that I'm impressed with the sounds ole boy was able to get out of that P-bass... 8)

Thanks for posting this up.
Its more simple to keep it simple.
