unfortunately you run across yo yo's who wont shut up about the theory!

"hey what note did you just play?".....answer..."well i played the 4th of the 5th congruent to the 9th pentatonic paradiddle....the 16th notes flat of the cadence....triplets...oh yeah and the down beat beatdown the tempo to a ....."..."he could have said he played a D!"

At least he didn't answer you in Hz!

A singer I used to play with always talked about how they played in 430, not 440.  I listend to a whole conversation before I realized that he simply meant "1/2 step down."

whatever.  He didn't even play anything!  (but he did a killer mime with your backup guitar--he would even grab a spare cord and act like hu plugged it into a monitor, or something--then people would compliment him on his playing!).

That's good, though--nice point.
