He is he is the drummer on the iconic odd-time track, "Take Five" by Dave Brubeck (1959). Joe is also the author of the instruction books Master Studies I and Master Studies II you have heard me recommend here for years. Joe was George Lawrence Stone's (author of Stick Control) greatest student and mastered Stick Control to the point that he created his own exercises taking it to another level and was asked by Stone to write book II or basically re-write the Stick Control book featuring Joe's exercises. Joe turned down the opportunity but his exercises inspired the folllow-up book to stick Control... Accents And Rebounds by George Lawrence Stone (which is considered by many as Stick Control II).
Did I mention that Joe Morello did all this while being legally blind since childhood?
