The end of Weave?
« on: April 21, 2011, 02:35:06 PM »
Hair Transplant Robot article link

sorry this won't work for the vast majority of people. But basically the FDA has approved a in-office procedure that can transplant hair into your head. also this is only for men so far... sorry ladies but trust and believe I'm sure they are working on it.

Quote
A few months after this robot operates on your cranium, hair will start growing back, a process that could take a year -- and makes for a more gradual transformation than slapping on a toupee. Still, you'll have to be a certain kind of man to take advantage of this technology -- for now at least, it's only been cleared for men with black or brown straight hair. Looks like the rest of you will have to find other, lower-tech ways to suffer for your beauty.

I think even if it becomes available for all people with all types of hair, weave will still be popular.  Most of my weave-head friends have long healthy hair, but they like changing styles, color, etc. without putting a lot of chemicals in their actual hair.  And wigs and other variations are fallbacks for their days when they don't feel like fighting their own hair.

Nessa hit it on the head. Since that first wig I bought a month or so ago, I've only worn my real hair ONE time... and even then, it was pulled back in a bun. I have no intention of wearing my real hair ever again. Wigs, weaves, braids, all that stuff... ROCK!!!!!
When you're in love you don't want to fall asleep bc reality is finally better than your dreams.

 :D :D :D :D :D

I was out with a friend last night and in the middle of conversation, he said to me out of the clear blue, "sister, let me tell you something, don't be giving into societal pressures and putting that stuff in your hair..."

We had the longest debate over it.  ::) More than anything, I was mad that he even noticed.  >:( :D :D :D
