So, let me ask this -- What do we have to gain by 'covering-up' Osama's death? I could see if this were around the time of 9/11, but a decade later when Osama's power has virtually evaporated? Most people had forgotten about him until today.

Okay, so maybe it'd help boost President Obama's re-election bid (as if he needs it when his opposition is Trump and Palin), but the backlash from this could prove a bigger hurdle for the President than keeping Bin Laden alive. They're already talking about followers that Bin Laden has possibly dispatched as 'sleepers' within the U.S., who would take his inevitable death as a trigger for carrying out further attacks. That's not something an incumbent wants to deal with on the heels of a re-election bid.

How could you say he was the 'global face of terror' (according to whomever) and discuss his attrocities in one breath and then say he's lost power over the last ten years in the next?

At any rate, I believe that, real or imagined, with the aniversary of 9/11 around the corner, the country may be near Defcon 1 in the months and days ahead because of this.  :-\

That's exactly what I've been trying to tell people around here. Now is the time for us to pray harder not celebrate. This is only the beginning. :( :'( :-\

America did it

And Obama was not born in the U.S., either.

It's all a conspiracy. Everything. Even Jesus.

Just doesn't seem right to celebrate the death of someone. I'm sure those who had relatives and/or friends in 9/11 will disagree with me.

I hope they know that he probably had a line of young men trained and ready to take his place. It is praying time...

I've been doing a fair share of hiding posts on my facebook wall this AM.
Too many people, especially Christians, who are partying like it's 1999...
They're getting more excited about this than when someone comes to Christ.
Too much gospel according to America in our culture, imho.

I've been doing the same thing bro! It grieves my spirit to see CHRISTIANS dancing in the streets....even here in this small town I live in. It really bothers me.... :-\ I agree with MM04 though, people who have lost loved ones are probably hidding my posts. :-\

@ChuRchy, how do you know he was the mastermind of 9/11? There was no trial, no defense, no evidence... How do you know?

Is that really justice?

We know because he told us he did it.  On several of his video and audio tapes he clearly stated that he and Al Qaeda were responsible for 9/11 and several other attacks and would be planning several others.  Of course one could always say the tapes aren't him, Elvis works at Burger King in Kalamazoo, and Rosemary Woods has NO IDEA what happened to that 18 minutes of Oval Office tape.

As far as justice?  By who's measure?  My idea of justice for 9/11 would probably be different than the ideas of a widow with small children whose head of family was in a tower.  If we measure justice by the US Legal System definition of justice, it might not be considered justice, but remember people, this is w-a-r.  US Legal System rules don't apply.  Especially in Pakistan.

For all the folks who are irritated by how some of the press is looking to diminish President Obama's role in the takedown of OBL, I would strongly recommend "Obama's Wars" by Bob Woodward (of Woodward & Bernstein, Watergate reporters) as a good read.  It gets down and dirty into some of the inter-agency discussions and conflicts as well as inter-personal conflicts in the management of the situations in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

It makes it very clear that President Obama has been much more hands on in these wars than GWB ever was, to the point of irritating the military establishment who expected him to rubber-stamp all of their requests.  Having read it, I viewed President Obama's description of Pakistan's involvement in this through a totally different lens than if I hadn't.  He was clearly trying to help Pakistan save face.  The compound where OBL was found and killed was within walking distance of a Pakistani military headquarters.....read the book and that won't surprise you.

that's the word im looking for, GRIEVED. I mentioned on my FB page that props are very due to a lotta people, but the sight of "revelry and celebration" over killing a man just does not sit right with me.

and here goes the US revelers with the "Rambo-you-cant-f**-with-us" mentality, "YEEAHH!WE GOT 'IM! USA! USA! USA!"

and Huckabee talkin bout "bin Laden, welcome to hell".....

sickening.

Either y'all need some new FB friends or... well, y'all need some new FB friends. :-\ I've seen some people saying some ignorant stuff about gas prices, taking digs at Republicans (or taking digs at President Obama), and saying it's time to pray, it's not over, Proberbs 24:17 and a zillion other scriptures, etc.... But I haven't seen one person celebrate at all - or even appear slightly happy. :-\

And a great deal of my friends are NYers, many of whom were directly affected by 9/11 (well, if you ask me, ALL NYers were directly affected, but that's neither here nor there). Y'all might need some new friends.
When you're in love you don't want to fall asleep bc reality is finally better than your dreams.

I know some people, fb friends, Christian friends, that I wouldn't normally classify as 'hillbillies', but there they are today posting "Hooray for 'mericuh?" and posting Toby Keith songs and such.

I hope he knows he set him self up with that line.  I can think of at least 1 joke that can be made against Huckabee because of that.

I was stoked not because Osama was murdered, I was stoked because my school's TV production sprung in to action and created our first ever live special report.  Also, before I went to bed I researched Islamic tradition and it said nothing about being buried at sea.  According to Islamic tradition the body needs to be buried, facing Mecca, in 24 hours.  That's plenty of time to get video, pictures, whatever.  All the possible theories is giving me ideas for stuff to produce.  MAN I wish I at least had iClone and a Mac so I can make animations.

My question is if in fact the US knows that Osama was behind 9/11, why on earth was he never criminally charged for the events?

Also how did he not only cripple but evade a multi-trillion dollar defense system with a 25mil bounty on his head, and it just so happens that a couple months before the 10 year anniversary of the events we find and kill ole boy. It would be VERY hard to convince me that the US had any interest in finding this dude and he managed to stay ghost for 10 year.

People write off these alternative theories as being crazy but personally what the gov wants me to believe is just as crazy if not more.
