NAMM 2011
« on: May 11, 2011, 08:53:55 AM »
I have been checking out the youtube clips of the 2011 NAMM.  I have to tell you this year i have seen some impressive stuff, some stuff weird but innovative.  Mostly what have been catching my eye which now i am interested into is the Hybrid Acoustic Electric instruments.  Pearl is making a big splash in the Electronic rim although Roland reigns supreme.  Zildjian has did it again they have change the game with Gen 16 cymbals, these are cymbals but designed for electronic set up.  This allows you to have any Zildjian cymbal sound with having to change the cymbal it self.  Trick Drums has a pedal that stupid crazy i want one.  My question is what are your thoughts on the technology that effecting the entertainment industry.

I still like the traditional basic sets. Some of the new stuff I've seen is amazing though.....
