So, I fight the entire game to erase what was a hefty deficit. I launch a word and finally take the lead!  I only have two tiles left. He has all seven. The price I paid for taking the late lead was leaving the TW available. I thought it was a decent gamble (not counting what letters were yet unplayed). Out of nowhere, SJ plays "helix" and scores 118 points!!!!  Game over. My reign of terror was short-lived. Lol

I feel your pain!  He has a habit of pulling out some huge points in the last play or two.  Grrrrrr!!!!!!

Seems I can only beat him once every three or four times we play and I usually have to build a nice lead and HOLD ON!

So far, LL and I are 1-1. I try not to make excuses, but doggonit, I was screwed in the game I lost. Besides the fact that I was getting nothing but vowels the whole game, I finally had a chance to knock out a big word to bring myself back. All I needed was "T". A freaking "T"!!! How do you go 30 letters without getting a "T"? It's one of the most common letters. SMH...

This game is fun, but my brain is fried after playing y'all cats.  So far, I'm 8-2, with my only defeats coming by way of the grammar wiz and the self-proclaimed champ, both of whom I've split games with.
