Depends on how many guest groups are on the program. Is this taking place during a regular service, or is this a concert like event?

0....stop having them....LOL! j/k

Seriously, I say 3-4 if it's one of those country church anniversaries with a lot of groups. Concert style? I say 6 to 7 but it depends on the group.

Yep.

I would say schedule it so that each group has 10 minutes, the host choir has a total of 30 minutes, and the whole thing is under 2 hours from start to benediction.

I agree with the above poster.

Unless the Holy Ghost moves. :D

If the artists are good, then I don't mind a 3 hour concert

:D true. I don't mind a 10 minute praise break, as long as that includes the praise break reprise(s). :D

And yeah, I can take a 3 hr concert if the artists are good, energetic, and dynamic AND there's NO fluff between artists. Keep it moving. I don't want to wait 5 minutes in between for the next group to move, line up, proceed, set up instruments, and then hear the director exhort (read: STALL) for the next 10 minutes before they sing....

Bottom line for me, it could be 2 hours or 4, but when I start looking at my watch, you have lost my attention.
