I had a diamond in the rough sitting on my bench for weeks.  Now it is time for my diamond to shine.

DeMarco Murray, run like the wind boy!!!!   ;D

I still think it's Felix's job once he returns, but I do think he is a nice pick up for now

I agree it's still Felix's job.  Right now.  Whether or not he'll still have it when he returns remains to be seen.   :D

Jason Garrett said: "It's just a sign of hopefully things to come.  That's not to suggest that he's going to have these kinds of days. But the first opportunity he got to get the ball like he got it in college, he took advantage of it. Now he's just got to keep taking the next step week to week."

In no way did he anoint him starter, but to me it sounds like there's an open door if he can take advantage.

Hey, if you have a possibly elite RB you've got to at LEAST give him a chance to win the job.  That's what DeMarco has.  A chance to win the job.

The issue is health.

Felix 'The Fragile Cat' has shown that he has the skills but lacks durability.  I believe the same knock follows DeMarco.

Also, I want to see what he does against a top-flight defense before anointing him anything.

But, we'll see. I have him in my other league so let him run (as long as you and I aren't playing one another).  :D

Meh.  All points are moot if Jerry Jones has decided that he loves him some Felix.

True.

When your rookie RB rushes for more yards than any player in the history of your franchise (and 8th most yards in the history of the league)...in his first real chance at a heavy workload...you'd be smart to take notice.

This IS Jerry Jones though, so....we'll see.   :D

Again, I'd have to see him against the Ravens or Steelers. Put up some decent numbers, stay healthy, and, THEN, I think there's something to notice.

Putting the smackdown on the Rams, as historic as it is, doesn't automatically get you the starting gig.

Felix ain't Wally Pipp'ed just yet.

But, Jerry Jones does remind one of a reincarnated Al Davis.  :-\

It may be a fluke.  He may flame out.  But rushing for 253yds...thus breaking the team record...in your very first start...is worth 'noticing' in and of itself bro.  He was a 3rd string RB.  He is now being strongly looked at for featured back.

Again, for me, the defense has to be considered. I start him this week against Philly but my expectations are tempered because:

a. Philly ain't St. Louis
b. Andy Reid game plans almost as well as Belichick after a bye.

Think Jerome Harrison back in '99.

Played well for the remainder of the season after his historic day (winning many people a fantasy title, yours truly included), named starter, lost the gig to Hillis, shipped to the Eagles.  :-\

It's one game.  If this were a research project, the sample size is too small. And, unlike Harrison, he does Jones with which to contend and possible durability issues. It was one game--a GREAT, GREAT game but just one.

No arguments here.  I think we agree but we're just saying it differently (which is the LGM way  :D ).

He has by no means won the job.  But he has gotten the coaches to look at him and think "this guy could be something special".  He will now get a lot more touches (Jason Garrett: "He certainly earned the opportunity to get the ball a lot.").  Sounds like his role in the offense has just been upgraded dramatically considering he was the 3rd string back.

He isn't a HOFer, a Pro Bowler, or even a STARTer, but he moved up the depth chart and all eyes are on him for the time being.

That's all I'm saying.  And, remember, if anyone wants this cat to be the real deal it's ME.

So wanna trade him?   :D

Earnest Graham, and now Beanie Wells... two more starting RBs on my team going down (although Wells isn't toast for the year).  Good thing their not my 1 & 2, but still...
