Ummm where have you been for the past 10 years? LOL. Yeah, the reason for the crash was that it was too heavy (and the pilot was high). I remember that being in the news from day 1, pretty much.

I remember that Sunday after it happened, the youth choir was singing that Sunday. Anyways, after Sunday School, I brought it up so all the kids were talking about it.

LOL! I didn't pay very close attention to it back then...haha! I was watching a video on youtube of a show talking about the 100 most shocking moments in music and her death was 76 (I think) and they were talking about it.

I remember too. We heard during our fellowship dinner after church. My brother got a call from one of his friends.
We were so shocked.

I saw that and yes it was sooo sad. It made me wonder at one point if she took her life on purpose. Idk....but yeah it was a sad time in music.

Who remembers "The Box"? That's where I watched all my music videos until I discover VH1 Soul Videos. It was on and poppin' then. They showed old school and new school stuff.

That's true. I couldn't tell you the last time I sat and watched videos, unless it was on youtube, which is rare.

But The Box was the thing back in the day. That's what we all watched. No commercials, and no shows like MTV, BET, and VH1 has, just straight videos. AND you can call in and request videos.

My friend Nancy does a GREAT teaching on the Biblical role of an armorbearer. She really needs to record it. It IS Biblical - very Biblical. Her teaching is nothing but scripture - not stretched, no reaching or anything. Just pure teaching. But as with nearly everything else, some churches have distorted the role.

What I think is cool though, is that a lot of churches DON'T mess it up as badly as what I've seen. I have been in the south for so long that I really thought it was the norm until I realized that not everyone takes it as far as some of these southern churches do. My church back home still doesn't have armorbearers/adjutants.

I know of one church (Britt knows which one I'm talking about) where the pastor has a team of armorbearers and one is a live-in (or "in-home caretaker"). His wife also has a team of armorbearers and a live-in.

I can tell you this much: the role of an armorbearer is not to fix tea, pour tea, pass water, change towels, carry Bibles, etc. We did that. Obviously.
