How do you rehabilitate someone who murdered 77 people by seemingly NOT punishing him?

There are no bars for goodness' sake.  Of COURSE there are no bars.  I wouldn't want to escape from that place.  It's a nice little apartment for 0$ rent.

That cell looks cleaner than some hotels i have slept in over night. I wonder if they have maids. The common area looked very comfortable for those who just want to lay back and chill.  That didn't look like a jail or prison to me.

I doubt if Norwegians are as up in arms as Americans are. I mean, if this is what their prisons typically look like, then that's all they know. They probably consider our prisons to be shockingly inhumane (in many cases, I agree).

Yes, I agree. Some of them are inhumane.

Some don't have working or adequate heat or A/C. Some are overrun with rodents and critters.

Some have mattresses less than an inch thick (which can and does cause medical problems).

Some don't supply adequate blankets.

Some have leaks in the ceilings and other plumbing issues.

Some have staff that turn a blind eye to abuse.

I can go on and on, but you get the point. These are some of the examples that I find to be inhumane.

To be honest a majority of Europe including prisons in my home town Nottingham and our capital London have prisons like this, its nothing new. Its what we've come to expect, if you end up in prison it ain't all bad compared to some countries [i.e America].

Although, it still makes us take a step back and think. There are people in our society out there working hard being good citizens and they can't afford a place as good as a "home" sorry I mean prison we provide for criminals.

This is simply one of the reasons why we have so many repeat offenders because they know they can have a good quality of life at the states expenses, with little to no hard work at all.

Sometimes I wonder if they should be harder on prisoners and give shorter sentences. Create a place where you would not want to go back to.
