Job Title: Director of Music Ministries
Job Description: The Director of Music Ministries shall provide oversight and direction for the music components of the weekly worship services, concerts, and outside engagements requiring live music or vocals. He/she will work closely with the pastor and under his direction assist with the weekly worship services with respect to music/song selection. The candidate will recruit, schedule, lead, and serve alongside the variety of gifted volunteer musicians and vocalists within the church body. The candidate would analyze current musical program and determine (in conjunction with the pastor) what changes need to be implemented into the current musical program to facilitate growth, excellence, and spiritual maturity. Sensitivity to the musical history, theological emphasis, leadership structure, and commitment to serve in a team environment are skills that would be highly regarded in a qualified candidate.
Job Qualifications: Ideal candidate would first and foremost be a believer in Jesus Christ. Additionally, the ideal candidate would have advanced playing ability on piano/keyboard, experience in selecting appropriate music for church worship services, ability to select and develop voices for various choir engagements. Ability to read sheet music, play by ear, and have demonstrated experience within church music ministry is highly desired. St. Paul Baptist Church uses a blended worship style including (but not limited to) traditional gospel, contemporary gospel, praise and worship, and traditional hymns.
Job Structure: Full time. Pay varies depending on qualifications of candidate; however, salary range will fall between $35,000-$45,000 per year (including medical benefits). Relocation package is available.
